USF Turn the Tables

Think of it as a business connection version of "speed dating."

The December 2nd "Turn the Tables" is a virtual version of a successful networking event we hold each semester for our students to meet one-on-one with financial industry practitioners for brief conversations.

It gives our Personal Financial Planning students the opportunity to ask questions of several professionals working in differing business models.

Industry guests looking to hire will be speaking with students interested in learning about their companies' operations, while intending to make a good impression such as to gain a follow up job interview.

Other guests will speak individually with a several students who are interested in obtaining subsequent invitations for internships or simply to watch client interactions or staff operations by participating in "shadow days" (either virtually or in person with whatever COVID protocols may be warranted).

Initially, everyone will be gathered in Microsoft Teams. Then, folks will be paired off and rotate through one-on-one conversations but held to brief discussions--so more introductions can be made.

You would be welcomed to visit with these students, provide them new perspective on your involvement in helping families, gain a better awareness of the next generation of financial planners' readiness and hopefully walk away with some students' information to share with your industry contacts.

If your schedule will permit, I look forward to having you join us from 3:30 to 5:30 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd.

To RSVP, please email me at derrick15@usf.edu with your company name and position.
